Most users will be wondering how and why proxy servers would be used with rapidshare.

Why would I need a proxy?
When using a free file host that limits how often you can download, it is possible and relatively easy to use a proxy server. By using a proxy server when the file host checked your IP address they would see the IP address of the proxy server that you were using. This should then enable you to download without the usual 1 hour wait for free users.

This sounds complicated, how would I use the proxy server?
Most software programs designed to run with rapidshare will either let you add a single proxy server or a whole list of proxy servers and the program will decide which one to use. There are lots of programs available, we suggest you try them until you find the one that you feel most comfortable with.
